I have a brother xl-5500 and I lost the manual, I need help!!?
My thread is getting caught up in the bobbin chamber, also my thread is knotting intermittingly when I use reverse to knot the stich, I have adjusted just about everything I can adjust. I am kind of new to sewing So I am pretty sure I am just missing something.

Make sure the machine is threaded properly. Also if the bobbin is not inserted the right way, it will cause the thread to knot up. Is it a drop in bobbin or is it a removable bobbin case?
Hold the bobbin in your left hand and pull the thread,the bobbin should turn counterclockwise.That's the way you should put the bobbin in the bobbin chamber". If you still have problems, find the Brother e-mail address or mailing address and request a new instruction book. You can also go back where you bought the machine and ask them to send for a book.
